I have loved this series since book 1 and have both read and listened to it multiple times. Alas there was no conclusion, wonderful or otherwise. Without spoiling: What was a really, really big step in previous books is now sometimes excruciatingly difficult and sometimes as easy as if it was a walk in the park. Narrated by Davina Porter. After 8 books in the series I hoped they would give a clear final book and I wasn't disappointed. The previous offerings were sublime but this was a damp squib - sorry. So, that part did not bother me. I was quite anxiously awaiting how the different story-lines would be joined again. Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Seriously, I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and only few narrators stand out as having this unique and rare ability. Oh and of course Lord John.
